Job Posting Executive Director

Eastside Family Place Society (est. 1979) is a support and resource centre for parents and caregivers and their young children, infant to six years of age. Our mission is to assist families and caregivers with young children in their healthy development through a wide range of programs, services, projects and supports.

Role Overview
The Executive Director oversees/manages the organization’s day –to – day resources, activities, programs and operations in accordance with Board approved policies, contractual obligations and relevant legislation

Key Areas of Responsibility
• Develops and promotes the financial viability of the organization ;
• Liaison to the Board of Directors;
• Program management, development and evaluation;
• Personnel /HR Management;
• Public and community relations; and,
• Professional development including networking/ involvement with the community in early childhood development /Early Years partnerships/ social services/ social and community development.

Qualifications and Competencies
• Education with a relevant University degree and /or equivalent combination in education and experience
• Experience in administration, staff and program supervision and/or management of a non-profit society ( minimum three years)
• Solid Knowledge of Family Resource Programs ( municipal , provincial, and federal)
• Experience in the community social service sector
• Evidence of a professional network/involvement with community and social services, early years , early childhood development
• Demonstrated abilities to work autonomously , make strategic decisions and also with volunteer Boards, committees, staff and community partnerships
• Demonstrated ability in grant writing and fundraising
• Demonstrated ability in public speaking, written and oral communication
• Computer literacy with word, excel, e-mails, etc.

Salary & Benefits
Wage- $30 to $32 an hour
Hours – Full –time at 35 hours per week (some evenings and weekends)
Other: Extended Benefits after successful completion of a 6 –month probation period

Start date May 2018
