Eastside Family Place’s workshops are facilitated by community professionals and are scheduled on a monthly or bimonthly basis. Most workshops are short, two hours or less, and are usually only one session. Workshops are provided at no charge for ESFP members and childminding is available, no charge, for children aged 18 months to early six years.

WORKSHOP: Raising Anti-Racist Children
A workshop led by Anti-racism educator, Angela Ma Brown                        Expecting a baby or have you had a baby in the past year? Join our workshop just for parents of babies born in the time of COVID. Do you sometimes worry about possible impacts of reduced socialization and activities, for example? Or maybe because you aren’t around other parents or babies, you worry your baby may not be reaching developmental milestones on target…. Parent Educator Bonnie Davis, who worked with families for over 20 years, specializes in the very early years from birth to 3 years. She will address what babies need most in their first year and explore resources for you and your baby’s mental health.

WORKSHOP: Brand New Free Program! “Roll Baby Roll!”  Just for parents of pre-crawling infants.  Support your baby’s development through touch, movement and face to face interactions.  For babies aged 6 weeks to PRE-crawling and their parent/caregiver. Facilitated by Bonnie Davis of The Family Continuum. Bonnie is a parent-educator, registered therapeutic counsellor, biodynamic craniosacral therapist, perinatal educator and coach, and loves supporting individuals and families to thrive.

You will learn ways to enhance your baby’s motor development through creating an enriching environment for them in the early months.
In this Class you will learn:
*How to support your baby in tummy time, and alternatives and the benefits of tummy time for babies
*Ways to support your baby’s developing language and vision with visual milestones you can track.
* the importance of supporting baby’s different sensory systems. Hearing, touch, vision, smell, taste….
*simple DIY toys you can make as well as how Vitamin N supports baby’s sensory rich world.
*about the importance of the attachment system, how it develops and practical ways you can support the bonding process.
