Nobody’s Perfect

Nobody’s Perfect Parenting Program is an experiential program for parents to develop and strengthen their parenting skills. Two 6-week sessions annually. Childcare is available for parents with children 18 months to early 6 years. There is no charge for this program, but participants must be a member of the Eastside Family Place Society, $30.00 per year.

Carmen Contreras A. has been facilitating NPP for many years. She’s worked as a Family Support Worker and Coordinator of Family Programs for MOSAIC (8 years) and currently for MPNH for the last 10 years. Carmen has her own business co-training and facilitating with Branka Vlasic, working for PEERNet BC, ISS and other. Originally from México, Carmen is the proud mama of a newly UBC graduated Family Doctor and is a new grandma too.

Rita Arciniega is a Parent-Child group facilitator with 19 years experience. With a passion to empower parents in their journey to achieve their best version of themselves as a parent. Immigrant and mother herself she had lived the joys and challenges of being a parent of young children in a new country.

Rita cuenta con 19 años de experiencia facilitando grupos de padres. Su pasión es apoyar a los padres y madres en su desarrollo como padres, para que puedan desarrollar su mejor versión en ese camino. Siendo ella inmigrante y madre, ha vivido los gozos y desafíos de crían niños pequeños en un nuevo país.

Nobody’s Perfect Parenting Program – LGBTQ+ Families

Syd Bosel (she/her) is a parenting educator who was born and raised in East Vancouver. She now lives in the traditional unceded territory of the K’omoks First Nation, on Vancouver Island. She has devoted over 25 years supporting parents of children birth to age 6 in their journey of parenthood. She brings a wealth of knowledge and compassion, and a good dose of humour, too! She is trained in a wide variety of parenting programs and is also a trainer & mentor of new facilitators of the Nobody’s Perfect Program.

Benjamin Wilder (they/them) is a queer single parent living on the unceded territory of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Watuth Nations. Prior to becoming a parent, they worked as a nanny for 10 years. With almost 18 years of facilitation experience, and 5 years leading peer Dialectical Behavioural Therapy skills groups with people from diverse backgrounds, Benjamin is passionate about supporting families of all shapes and sizes. They are so excited to be co-facilitating Nobody’s Perfect!
